Just a little something special

After a week of some serious inspiration. . .

(We FINALLY have our logo!!! hoorah)
(Some serious Etsy searching)
(The new Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters catalogs)
(A yarn globe project)
(And finally, a special request for a wedding shower gift)
This is what I came up with!

This is a Sisters' Pickins original creation. I have made several in the past, but this one in particular, came out amazing! The request was for "World Marketish, with Middle Eastern influence”.
The dark, ebony stain and weathered wood, paired with the vibrant color and detailed character of the lettering makes for such a great combo! This is just a simple little piece that can hold your keys and catch your mail at the end of a long day. Just a little something special to make your life a little brighter!

This is part two of the wedding shower gift request. I was inspired by an Etsy site where they used a computer generated image of a state and a simple white frame with a very graphic font to mark the symbolic date and location of a wedding. Super cute. . . my style is a little different.
Adding my own little twist and making it as antiquated as possible, I used burlap as a backdrop and then hand cut Wisconsin from this vivid, textured paper I just picked up. I added a little sterling silver brad for some contemporary balance and then the couple’s info was handwritten. . .
What a great little piece to have floating around from end table to nightstand as a quaint reminder of the date and place you solidified your love!
